Corporate social responsibility and sustainable business were recently made a strategic spearhead project at Vieser. The topic itself is nothing new – it has been part of natural business development and one of Vieser’s cornerstones since day one.
“Vieser’s management is collaborating closely to promote this project. To support this important mission, we joined Green Building Council Finland earlier this autumn,” says Esa Mouhu, Head of Sustainability, R&D and Quality at Vieser.
Green Building Council Finland is a non-profit organisation and a member of the World Green Building Council network. In Finland, the national organisation’s mission is to help make carbon neutral, circular solutions that promote a sustainable lifestyle a natural part of all operations in the real estate and construction sector.
“Membership in Green Building Council Finland sends a strong message of commitment to developing construction and mitigating climate change. Our goal is to participate in the committee work to share best practices and develop the sector together with other industry players. We want to contribute to the promotion of sustainable development through, for example, future material choices. Through the collaboration, we aim to reduce the carbon footprint of our products,” Mouhu says.
“We all have a responsibility and a role to play in developing sustainable business. At Vieser, we want to actively impact these important issues in our business and processes across the organisation. The Green Building Council is a good forum for us to unite our forces and contribute to this shared mission,” says Vieser’s CEO, Annika Jyllilä -Vertigans.
